But who exactly are they? Where did they come from, and are they worth your attention? Spoiler: absolutely.
Moza Racing is a fast-growing sim racing brand offering high-performance direct drive wheelbases, pedals, shifters, and more, at prices that are hard to believe. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned racer, their modular ecosystem covers all levels, and it’s built with premium materials and smart software. They’re PC-first, with some Xbox support, and well worth a look if you’re upgrading your sim rig or starting fresh.

Who Are Moza?
Moza Racing is one of the most exciting newcomers in the sim racing world. While the name might be unfamiliar to those outside the scene, Moza isn’t just some random startup. They’re actually a division of Gudsen Technology, a Chinese company known for making professional-grade camera stabilisation gear, stuff used in film and content creation around the world.
Gudsen has been around since 2012, and when they decided to bring their engineering know-how to sim racing, they didn’t mess about. In 2021, Moza Racing was born, and within a remarkably short time, they’ve managed to shake up the landscape with a full lineup of well-built, high-performance hardware.
Where Did They Come From?
Moza entered the sim racing world with purpose and confidence. Rather than launching one or two products and slowly testing the waters, they dropped a complete ecosystem: wheelbases, pedals, steering wheels, shifters, dashboards, the lot! And crucially, they weren’t just rebranding someone else’s tech; they built everything from the ground up.
Coming from a background in motor control and motion feedback (thanks to their gimbal tech roots), they already had the engineering expertise to tackle direct drive motors, sensors, and real-time feedback systems. They spotted a gap in the market, where serious performance met accessible pricing, and they went for it.
What Kind of Products Do Moza Make – and Who Are They For?
One of Moza’s biggest strengths is their product range. They’ve built a full ecosystem that caters to sim racers at every stage, whether you’re a total beginner or someone clocking thousands of laps a month in league racing.
Direct Drive Wheelbases
Moza’s wheelbases all feature direct drive motors, offering a smoother, more realistic driving feel compared to belt- or gear-driven systems.
R3 (3.9 Nm) – Designed for Xbox and PC, ideal for beginners or casual racers.
R5 (5.5 Nm) – A solid entry-level base for PC users, often bundled with a basic wheel and pedals.
R9 (9 Nm) – A step up for serious hobbyists. Great feel, compact form, and excellent value.
R12 (12 Nm) – For racers who want more detail and resistance in the wheel, particularly for competitive events.
R16 & R21 – Their top-end bases, made for pros and high-end rigs. Up to 21 Nm of torque for those who want ultimate realism.

Formula wheels
Built for open-wheel racing, with loads of inputs and telemetry displays.
- Vison GS – 310mm carbon wheel with HD touchscreen.
- FSR2 Formula – 280mm formula style carbon with touchscreen display.
GT-style wheels
Versatile and great for GT racing
- Essenza SCV12 – 1:1 Officially Licensed Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corsa Wheel.
- GS V2P GT – 300mm forged carbon GT wheel with RGB lights.
- KS – Lightweight 300mm carbon with 70 programmable inputs.
Round wheels
Perfect for rally and drifting (or even truck driving!).
- RS V2 Leather Round – Leather wrapped GT wheel with RGB lights.
- CS V2P – Aluminium alloy round wheel with magnetic shifters.
- TSW Truck Wheel – Designed for truck driving simulators.
Entry-level ES wheel
A budget-friendly wheel often included in R3 and R5 bundles.
Moza Racing also has a ‘universal hub and third party adaptor’ which lets you connect a Moza steering wheel to non Moza wheelbases and PCs. Nice of them isn’t it!
Pedals
SR-P Lite – Basic pedal, ideal for newcomers.
SR-P – A more refined two-pedal unit with magnetic sensors.
CRP2 Pedals – Load-cell pedals which are fully adjustable and built like a tank.
mBooster Active Pedal – These pedals deliver immersive, motor-driven brake feedback that simulates ABS, traction control, and road feel, which feels incredibly realistic. With dual 200 kg load cells and fully customisable tuning via Moza Pit House, it offers pro-level precision and tactile response.
All of Moza’s pedals connect via USB and are configurable using their own ‘Pit House’ software.
Shifters & Handbrakes
Moza’s shifters and handbrakes are as robust and user friendly as any other, with plenty of options to suit budget and types of racing you’re doing.
SGP Sequential Shifter – Firm, responsive, and built for rally/touring car fans.
HGP H-Pattern Shifter – A 7+1 unit with switchable modes. Solid metal and seriously satisfying to use.
AB9 Active Shifter – Provides accurate and realistic gear shifting.
HBP Handbrake – Analogue and adjustable, perfect for drift and rally sims.
Dashboards & Displays
Moza also makes real-time telemetry displays like the CM2 Dash, which attach to your wheelbase and show gear, RPM, lap data, and more, great for immersion.
Software – Moza Pit House
Everything is managed through Moza’s Pit House software, a clean, intuitive hub where you can:
- Adjust force feedback
- Tweak pedal curves
- Update firmware
- Monitor real-time telemetry
It’s genuinely one of the better software platforms out there, no faffing about, just setup and go.
Price Point
Moza’s pricing is one of their strongest advantages. They’ve managed to offer direct drive performance and high-end features at prices that often undercut their competitors, sometimes by several hundred pounds.

R3 bundle (Xbox/PC): ~£270 – £360

Their peripherals, pedals, wheels, shifters, and handbrakes are also competitively priced, making Moza a very accessible brand whether you’re just starting out or levelling up.
Compatibility
PC – Flexible and Modular
On PC, Moza gear is largely plug-and-play and works nicely with other brands:
Moza pedals, shifters, and handbrakes all connect via USB, so they can be used alongside wheelbases from other brands.
Their steering wheels and bases, however, use proprietary communication, so Moza wheels only work with Moza bases, and vice versa.
Consoles – Limited to Xbox
Moza’s only console-compatible gear at the moment is the R3 bundle, which includes the Xbox security chip required for console use. That means:
✅ Works on Xbox (but only with Moza gear)
❌ No PlayStation support (yet)
❌ No mixed-brand setups on console (e.g. no Moza pedals with a Fanatec base)
If you’re on PC, you’ve got loads of flexibility. If you’re on Xbox, the R3 is a great starting point.
