Isle of Man TT 2022 Overview

Isle of Man TT Start

The hardest and most gruelling road circuit in the world, the Isle of Man TT is back on!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the event has not been ran since 2019 and we have been preparing ourselves for its return and are super excited to see the action return over the coming days.

Thousands of people will be descending on the island to bathe in this motorcycle paradise to see qualifying and racing action from some of the best and bravest road racers in the world! If the recent North West 200 is anything to go by, then we are in for another thrilling year of the TT in 2022!

For the uninitiated, the Isle of Man TT is the pinnacle ‘must see’ event if you have any interest in motorcycles or racing – or just if you like adrenaline fuelled action! Every May and June (apart from the last 2 years…) the small island which is found between England and Ireland closes streets to host a 37.73-mile course with over 200 corners. It is without question, one of the greatest and demanding road circuits in the world.

2022 Entrants and Favourites

The 2022 rider list is full of multiple winners and riders hoping to grab that first win in 2022.

None other than 23-time winner John McGuiness and 19-time winner Michael Dunlop will be looking to add to their tally of wins after having a difficult 2019.

2019 senior TT winner Dean Harrison is sure to have his eyes on another senior win at the very least, but he will have tough competition from current lap record holder Peter Hickman and Ian Hutchinson, who is determined to get back on the top step after having a tough 2018 and 2019 because of injury in 2017.

Looking for his first win at the Isle of Man TT is local star Conor Cummins, who will be desperate to stand on the top step for the first time in 2022 after showing great promise in years gone by.

Finally, another name to keep an eye on is TT newcomer Glenn Irwin, who with plenty of experience in BSB will be looking to learn as much as he can from 23-time winner teammate McGuinness.
